The Lewis & Clark County Extension Service
This office serves as an outreach function of Montana State University dedicated to improving the quality of people's lives by providing research-based knowledge to strengthen the social, economic and environmental well-being of families, communities and agricultural enterprises.
The programs of the MSU Extension are available to all people regardless of race, color, national origin, gender, religion, age, disability, political beliefs, sexual orientation, and marital or family status. Issued in furtherance of cooperative extension work in agriculture and home economics, acts of May 8 and June 30, 1914, in cooperation with the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Dr. Douglas Steele, Vice Provost and Director, Extension, Montana State University, Bozeman, MT 59717.
Youth through Education Gain Life Skills
Lewis & Clark County has 25 4-H clubs with more than 350 youth and 100 adult volunteers actively participating in 4-H projects and activities. Through "learn by doing" opportunities, youth gain in-depth knowledge that allows them to grow in areas of animal awareness, public speaking, consumer science, social and community development, life skills and leadership.
Horticulture Education To Meet Clientele Needs
Horticulture activities play a major part in Extension’s program. Throughout the year, over 300 office calls and home visit requests dealing with garden, yard management, and landscaping needs of homeowners are handled.
