Cooperative Health Center Community Barbecue

Thank you to the community and our excellent staff for celebrating National Health Center Week! The weather cooperated, and we enjoyed a festive barbecue in our west parking lot Monday, August 9. The highlight of the event was the presentation of our 2010 Public Health Award.
2010 Public Health Award

- Dr. Behlmer received the award from Kate McIvor, CHC Executive Director. Dr. Goldes thanked CHC staff for their work.
In a 1 p.m. ceremony Monday, August 9, the Cooperative Health Center (CHC) awarded its 2010 Public Health Award to Stephen D. Behlmer, MD and Jeffry A. Goldes, MD of Associated Dermatology and Skin Cancer Clinic of Helena.
“Dr. Goldes and Dr. Behlmer are tremendous supporters of primary care in general and of the Cooperative Health Center in particular,” said Will Snider, DO, CHC Medical Director. “They see it as their mission to take care of the integumentary health of all Helenans regardless of income. They have proven to be strong patient advocates who care for patients of the Cooperative Health Center as if their clinic were an extension of ours.”
Dr. Behlmer was “pleasantly surprised” to receive the award. “Our mission is to take care of our patients and coordinate their care with their physicians within the limits of our local resources. I know that there are others who are deserving of this award, so I’m honored that we were chosen,” he said.
The CHC created the Public Health Award in 2004 to publicly thank a local health care organization or individual that has done the most to help the CHC carry out its mission of providing primary health, dental, and mental health care to all county residents in need, regardless of their ability to pay.
