Birth and Death Records
Birth and death records on file for Lewis and Clark County may date back to the late 1800's.  The current State system enables all counties to issue State birth certificates since 1921 and death certificates since 2003, with continuing updates.  The present county costs for a certified birth record is $5.00 and certified death records are $3.00 each, with genealogical copies $.50 each.  Forms are located on the State of Montana's website at  vhsp.dphhs.mt.gov/certificates/ordercertificates.shtml

9. Animal Control

License: All dogs in the dog control district, 6 months or older, must be licensed. The licenses expire on January 31st and are delinquent after March 1st. Purchase licenses at the County Treasurer's Office. You will need a copy of the dogs rabies vaccination certificate. The fee is $15 for spayed or neutered dogs, $25 for unaltered dogs. The risk is determined by the fuels and topography, with dense trees and steep slopes resulting in the highest risk rating.
