Attorneys are permitted in civil court. There is a $12,000.00 limit. Civil suits can not address personal property issues. Papers must be served by the Sheriff's department, a private process server or a disinterested 3rd party that is over the age of 18 and can serve papers. The cost to file a civil case is $35.
